Our learning about life does not come from the degrees we acquire but from the experiences we accrue. If we are lucky, these experiences challenge and push us to accomplish things we never thought we could do, and which often create a great deal of stress in so doing.

That’s not the idea that’s been sold to us. We learn that we should avoid stressful situations in all cases and hope that we have a life that is easy and relaxing because it is best for our well-being and health. I’m pretty sure that even the crown princes and princesses in Europe had plenty of stressful situations. Heck, some of them even had to worry about losing their heads, literally.
