SAP MM Customizing—MRP

Introduction

Material requirements planning (MRP) is a system that is responsible for finding out purchasing requirements for any plant. MRP takes the quantities of finished products to be made to fulfill the customer orders. From these quantities, it calculates the required quantities of raw materials to make the production order quantities of finished products.

MRP generates planned orders for required raw material quantities on dates. These planned orders can be manually or automatically converted into purchase requisitions. The purchase requisitions can in turn be manually or automatically converted into purchase orders or any other external purchasing documents such as contracts and request for quotation ...
