Daily Scrum Anti-Patterns
Introduction
The Daily Scrum is a critical event for inspection and adaption, run by the Developers, to guide them for the next 24 hours toward achieving the Sprint Goal. The Daily Scrum has the shortest planning horizon in Scrum to help the team deal with the immediate challenges they face.
The Daily Scrum is also a Scrum event that is exceptionally prone to anti-patterns (see Figure 7.1), ranging from becoming a reporting session to assignments to answering three outdated questions1 that were never intended to represent a Daily Scrum template.
