Review: Jumbo Bricks Are Just the Start

So you’ve built a few jumbo bricks and you understand the concept of macro building. Now you’re looking for other projects to build using the same technique. There is really only one rule that applies when you choose subject matter for macro models:

Start small and don’t build too big.

First, try re-creating other elements you have in your collection. You may want to tackle a 1x1 headlight brick or maybe see if you can find a way to build the texture on the face of a 1x2 grille brick. (See Appendix A for illustrations of these and many other pieces.) Pick pieces that you already find interesting and know you’ll enjoy seeing in large scale. And remember, try smaller elements first.
