“Professional Services” involves a range of different occupations that provide support to businesses in the form of advice or service roles. To say it’s a huge industry is an understatement: professional services firms in the United States generated nearly $2 trillion in combined revenue in 2019 (a 5 percent increase from 2018).1 That same year, the US industry included 9.4 million jobs spread out over 1.2 million firms. In the UK, it’s estimated that professional services make up 13% of all UK employment, 25% of all businesses, and add £190bn to the economy.2
