Chapter overview

The Concept Design is prepared at Stage 2 and this output can be used to make a detailed planning application if required by the planning strategy. However, as this stage requires only outline proposals for the architectural, structural and building services design, there is a high risk of subsequent changes that could affect the approved scheme. This chapter discusses these risks and the benefits of collaboration with the planning authority and other parties as the design develops.
