War with Iraq
At approximately, 5:30 A.M. Baghdad time, on Thursday, March 20, 2003, Operation Iraqi Freedom began when coalition forces invaded Iraq. The invasion occurred approximately 90 minutes after a 48-hour ultimatum expired from U.S. President George W. Bush that Iraqi President Saddam Hussein and his sons Uday and Qusay leave Iraq. Saddam Hussein did not leave Iraq. The resultant war was relatively brief. The U.S.-led coalition easily dominated Iraqi armed forces on the battlefield, suffered minimal casualties, and achieved most of its military objectives in a matter of days and total victory within three weeks. ...
