To know what has changed in your SharePoint, a great place to start, is from knowing what the base looked like, or should look like. To do that, you have to know the how the build comes together and the key settings to the good build. It doesn’t hurt to know how to troubleshoot the service applications and know the CU level of your farm. We’ll talk more about this in this chapter and use PowerShell to look at the service applications and their connections within IIS and the file system.
