If we look at the early literature around Web services, we find that early thought leaders painted the picture of a global set of Web services that could be incorporated into a business solution upon dynamic discovery. Pragmatically, Web services are likely to be deployed in controlled environments with restricted and monitored usage. By the same token, they are initially likely to be consumed subsequent to a business relationship as opposed to a simple dynamic interaction, as originally thought.
