Chapter 9. Using Google Talk
In this chapter, you learn how to chat with other users via Google Talk.
America Online has AOL Instant Messenger (AIM) service. Microsoft has Windows Live Messenger service. Yahoo! has Yahoo! Messenger. It should come as no surprise, then, that Google offers an instant messaging service: Google Talk.
What is surprising is that you can access Google Talk from the standalone Google Talk client program (similar to what’s offered with both AIM and Windows Live Messenger) or from the Gmail and iGoogle web pages. That’s right—you can instant message your friends from Google’s web-based email service. Cool.
