The Title Tool and the Downstream Keyer |
The Title Tool
The Avid Title Tool lets the user create 2D titles to key over video (the default) or over a coloured background. Titles are created and saved as uncompressed graphics with alpha channels and will display at high quality using Avid’s Downstream Keyer. Fonts used by the Title Tool are those already installed on the computer. Mac users will need to have Adobe Type Manager running to use Postscript fonts with the Title Tool. Figure 12.1 shows the Title Tool and tool bar from Media Composer v10, Symphony v3 and Xpress v4. Earlier versions have a slightly different layout.
