About the Author
Dan Schatt is a frequent industry speaker, financial technology adviser, and recognized expert in payments, mobile commerce, and retail financial services innovation. As the former general manager of financial innovations at PayPal from 2007 to 2013, his team led and executed PayPal’s global initiatives with the banking and payments industry. His team’s innovations included PayPal’s first partnerships and product development with virtual currency and loyalty providers, PayPal’s presence at the physical point of sale, and the Company’s first cash products for the unbanked and underbanked. His team’s work also led to hundreds of partnerships with the banking industry that have leveraged PayPal’s open payments platform. He was cited by Bank Innovation magazine as one of the top innovators to watch in 2013, and received the A. R. Zipf Award for Payments System Innovation on behalf of PayPal in 2011 by the Western Payment Alliance in recognition of his national leadership in the payments industry.
Dan currently is on the founding executive team of Stockpile, Inc. and serves as chief commercial officer.
