As a continuation of the previous chapter, this chapter introduces two fundamental types of maps available on the Tableau Show Me card: proportional symbol and choropleth (or filled) maps (Figure 6.1). Again, we’ll discuss appropriate use cases for each and get hands-on to create examples in Tableau. We’ll also see how to generate these maps according to best practices, and consider some helpful guidelines specifically for mapping data.
