Appendix V. Index of Examples

This book includes 435 example programs that are available for download from the book's web site. This appendix briefly describes the examples in each chapter so you know which programs to look at for a particular topic.

Most of the chapters include example applications, so the following list includes entries for every chapter. Only Appendixes A, G, K, and M have examples so only they are listed here (although many of the chapters have examples covering material in the other appendixes).

  • Chapter 1

    • There are no example programs for this chapter.

  • Chapter 2

    • Factorial — Calculates factorials. This program is used for IDE screen shots. Its functionality is incidental.

  • Chapter 3

    • There are no example programs for this chapter.

  • Chapter 4

    • There are no example programs for this chapter.

  • Chapter 5

    • There are no example programs for this chapter.

  • Chapter 6

    • These programs are used to demonstrate breakpoints, bookmarks, IntelliSense, and other editing features. Their functionality is incidental. In fact, most of these are incomplete and don't run.

    • EditorStuff — Screen shots for collapsed regions.

    • Fibonacci — Calculates Fibonacci numbers. This one actually runs!

    • HoverOverVariable — Screen shots for drilling into an array to see its values.

    • UseIntelliSense — Screen shots for IntelliSense.

    • UseSnippets — Screen shots for using snippets.

  • Chapter 7

    • DebugWindows — Screen shots for Debug windows: Quick Watch, Watch, Exceptions, Locals, Breakpoint Condition, Breakpoint Hit Count, Breakpoint When ...
