It’s safe to say that the Internet will continue its race toward ever greater diversity: more content, a greater diversity of content and a wider range of media and input devices.
The need for public niche communities will thus grow ever stronger. I do think that the tools to create these aggregators will be developed, making sites easier to create and use. But automation is not enough: aggregators exist to organize the chaos. They provide an editorial function and an introduction for casual users and newcomers and these will always be needed tasks.
