Hard Drive Health States
From a hard drive point of view, the main difference between Windows 8 and its predecessors is that Windows 8 now maintains a running assessment of the current health of the drive. Specifically, Windows 8 always sees your hard drive as currently in one of the five following states:
• Healthy—This state means that your hard drive is online and currently has no errors or corruption. When you open the Action Center’s Maintenance section (press Windows Logo+W, type action, and then select Action Center), the Drive Status value shows “All drives are working properly,” as you can see in Figure 25.1.
