Calculator

It may have taken Microsoft a year to realize it, but the original Windows 8 TileWorld may have been the world’s first major operating system without so much as a four-function calculator.

All is forgiven now; see Figure 4-2.

The new TileWorld Calculator app has three modes: Standard (complete with four functions, memory, and square root); Scientific, shown here at top; and Converter (bottom).The Converter offers three pop-up menus, marked by the usual buttons.The top one lets you specify a conversion type: volume, length, weight, temperature, energy, area, speed, time, power, or data.The two lower ones let you specify what units you want to convert to or from.
