Chapter 4. Advanced Group Policy Management

Advanced Group Policy Management (AGPM) is a set of extensions for the Group Policy Management Console that fundamentally changes how you control and work with Active Directory–based Group Policy. As discussed in Appendix A, you need to install the AGPM client and server components before you can use AGPM. AGPM version 3.0 or later supports both policy preferences and policy settings in Group Policy objects (GPOs). After you’ve installed the AGPM extensions, your GPOs are either uncontrolled or controlled.
