So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Chapter 5. Board Support Package (BSP)
The board support package (BSP) enables a developer to build a run-time image of the Windows Embedded CE operating system for a specific hardware platform. Each hardware platform for which an operating system needs to be built must include its designated BSP. Usually, building a BSP is the most labor-intensive part of creating a device. Building a BSP requires that the developer is familiar with the hardware architecture as well as the architecture of the operating system. All of the interaction of the operating system with the device is implemented in BSP, and therefore, the quality of the BSP determines the resulting quality of the device.
