The 3D APIs in Windows Presentation Foundation were designed to be as approachable and easy to use as other parts of the .NET Framework. Because 3D is a truly integrated part of the WPF platform, many concepts are shared and reused from 2D graphics and elsewhere. This significantly reduces the learning curve for 2D developers approaching 3D for the first time because the 3D APIs often follow familiar patterns and conventions.
