Chapter 15. Optimizing Windows Vista

Many different aspects of Windows Vista can be optimized. In this chapter, I’ll focus on improving drive performance, enhancing data security, and improving computer security. You can improve drive performance by cleaning up temporary files, checking for disk errors, and defragmenting disks. You can enhance security by encrypting disks and their contents. You can also improve security by using Security Center, Windows Firewall, and Windows Defender.
