This appendix provides the backup material for the example return-on-investment (ROI) discussion in Chapter 8. The specific numbers used in this calculation are hypothetical, but they are typical of the costs and benefits organizations have experienced from using the TSP.
Summary of Improvement Results
A Software Engineering Institute (SEI) study describes the TSP results from 4 organizations and 28 projects [1]. These results were mentioned in Chapter 8 and they are shown in Table F.1. Fifteen of these projects used the TSP methods, and 13 did not.
