So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

Dieses Kapitel blickt auf Werkzeuge für die Entwicklung beziehungsweise solche, die der Untersuchung von Webseiten dienen. Dabei hängt es vom Browser ab, welche Tools zur Verfügung stehen.
Vor zehn Jahren bestand lediglich die Möglichkeit, in den Quelltext zu schauen, um zu sehen, was der Browser ausspuckt. In den vergangenen Jahren sind nun immer mehr Tools auf den Markt gekommen, um die Webentwicklung zu vereinfachen. Diese waren in der Regel Addons, die installiert werden mussten und mehr oder weniger zuverlässig waren. Derweil sind die Entwicklertools in den Browsern selbst implementiert, sodass immer weniger Extra-Tools notwendig sind.
