It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

Composition of the Atmosphere
The air that surrounds the earth is called the atmosphere. The Earth’s atmosphere is about 480 km, 99% of which lies up to the height of 32 km from the Earth. This thickness and composition play crucial roles in regulating our climate, protecting us from harmful solar radiation, and supporting life as we know it. The interplay of gases, pressure, and gravity creates a dynamic system that’s essential for sustaining life on our planet.
Below is the composition of gases in the Earth’s atmosphere:
- Nitrogen—78%
- Oxygen—21%
- Argon—0.93%
- Carbon dioxide—0.04%
- Trace amounts of neon, helium, methane, krypton and hydrogen, as well as water vapour (approx 1% at sea level)
