Transceiver Building Blocks

This appendix is a simple tutorial that reviews some of the main building blocks inside a typical low-power and low-cost short-range wireless networking transceiver. This appendix, however, is not a prerequisite for understanding chapter 4 of this book.

E.1 Introduction

The transceiver architecture and topology of individual blocks inside a transceiver are determined based on the application scenario. The transceivers developed for IEEE 802.15.4 standard must be very low cost and consume very little power.
