How to find O’Reilly content
There’s a ton of content on Workday Learning. Here’s how you can find O’Reilly resources in a wide variety of formats to best suit your learning needs.
To get started, open the left-hand menu in Workday and select Learning under Personal. Then select Discover in the left-hand menu and click Browse Learning.
AI Academy
The O’Reilly AI Academy provides hand-selected essential tracks tailored to specific roles so you can learn how to put GenAI to work. To find and enroll in AI Academy tracks:

Search for GenAI, then select O’Reilly in the Content Provider filter and Collection in the External Content Type filter.

Select an AI Academy track, click Enroll and then Submit when prompted. Once you’re enrolled, click Start Content and then Launch Content when prompted to open the track in the O’Reilly learning platform.
Articles & shortcuts
Articles and shortcuts are great ways to quickly learn something new. We have hundreds of them on Workday Learning and most can be read (or watched) in under 15 minutes. Here’s how to find and enroll in them:

To find articles, search by topic and add the word article to your query (for example, Leadership article). Then select O’Reilly in the Content Provider filter and Book in the External Content Type filter.

To find shortcuts, search by topic and add the word shortcut to your query (for example, ChatGPT shortcut), then select O’Reilly in the Content Provider filter. In the External Content Type filter, select Book for text shortcuts or Video for video shortcuts.

Select an article or shortcut, click Enroll and then Submit when prompted. Once you’re enrolled, click Start Content and then Launch Content when prompted to open the article in the O’Reilly learning platform.
Books & audiobooks
There are over 60K books and 3K audiobooks from O’Reilly and other top publishers available on Workday Learning. To find your next title:

Search by topic, title, or author (for example, Python), then select O’Reilly in the Content Provider filter. In the External Content Type filter, choose Book to see books only or Audio to see audiobooks only.

Because we offer books in multiple languages, you can scroll down and select your preferred language in the Language filter.

Select a book or audiobook, click Enroll and then Submit when prompted. Once you’re enrolled, click Start Content and then Launch Content when prompted to open the content in the O’Reilly learning platform.
Certification guides
O’Reilly certification guides are complete sets of materials you’ll need to help you prepare for the industry’s most sought-after certifications—including official prep materials from the vendors themselves. You’ll find a variety of content formats like self-paced books, instructor-led videos, and interactive practice tests. To find and enroll in certification guides:

Search for a certification or vendor and add the words certification guide to your query (for example, AWS certification guide), then select O’Reilly in the Content Provider filter and Assessment in the External Content Type filter.

Select a guide, click Enroll and then Submit when prompted. Once you’re enrolled, click Start Content and then Launch Content when prompted to open the guide in the O’Reilly learning platform.
Certification practice tests
Taking an actual test is the most helpful way to study for a certification exam, which is where practice tests come into play. They’re interactive and customizable, and you can track your performance on a module-by-module basis to get immediate feedback that helps you determine which areas to focus on next.
Each practice test offers three modes designed to help you prepare:
- Study Mode works as a study guide to evaluate your knowledge. You get answers and full explanations for each question, and you have the option to NOT time yourself so you can study at your own pace.
- Practice Exams give you the chance to take a simulated, timed practice test.
- Flash Cards provide the questions WITHOUT multiple choice answers for a true test of your mastery.
To find and enroll in practice tests in Workday Learning:

Search for a certification or vendor and add the words practice test to your query (for example, AWS practice test), then select O’Reilly in the Content Provider filter and Assessment in the External Content Type filter.

Select a practice test, click Enroll and then Submit when prompted. Once you’re enrolled, click Start Content and then Launch Content when prompted to open the practice test in the O’Reilly learning platform.
Courses
With live and on-demand courses, you can build your skills and see your progress, take quizzes to test your knowledge, and earn verifiable, sharable completion badges.

To find and register for live courses, click here.

To find on-demand courses, search for a topic and add the words on-demand course to your query (for example, Security on-demand course), then select O’Reilly in the Content Provider filter and Course in the External Content Type filter.

Select a course, click Enroll and then Submit when prompted. Once you’re enrolled, click Start Content and then Launch Content when prompted to open the course in the O’Reilly learning platform.
Expert playlists
Expert playlist are collections of content handpicked by top innovators in their field. Follow your favorites to be notified when they’re updated. To find and enroll in expert playlists:

Search by topic and add the words expert playlist to your query (for example, Python expert playlist), then select O’Reilly in the Content Provider filter and Collection in the External Content Type filter.

Select a playlist, click Enroll and then Submit when prompted. Once you’re enrolled, click Start Content and then Launch Content when prompted to open the playlist in the O’Reilly learning platform.

Once you’re in the expert playlist on O’Reilly, click Follow at the top right-hand side of your screen to receive updates when new content is added to the playlist.
Interactive
With interactive labs and sandboxes, you can experiment with new technologies hands-on in a safe environment.

To find labs and cloud labs, search by topic or technology (for example, Kubernetes or Docker), then select O’Reilly in the Content Provider filter and Lab in the External Content Type filter.

To find sandboxes, search by topic or technology and add the word sandbox to your query (for example, Kubernetes Sandbox or Docker Sandbox), then select O’Reilly in the Content Provider filter and Lab in the External Content Type filter.

Select a lab or sandbox, click Enroll and then Submit when prompted. Once you’re enrolled, click Start Content and then Launch Content when prompted to open the content in the O’Reilly learning platform.
Live events
O’Reilly live events include live courses, expert-led conversations, Katas challenges, and Superstreams—our bite-size tech conferences.

To find live courses, search for a topic and add the words live course to your query (for example, Security live course), then select O’Reilly in the Content Provider filter and Course in the External Content Type filter. In your results, you’ll see our upcoming live courses with the event’s date included in the title.

To find our tech conferences, just search for the word Superstream, then select O’Reilly in the Content Provider filter and Course in the External Content Type filter. In your results, you’ll see our upcoming Superstreams with the event’s date included in the title. You can also find recordings of our past Superstreams by selecting Video in the External Content Type filter.

To find our other unique live events, just search for the words special event, then select O’Reilly in the Content Provider filter and Course in the External Content Type filter. In your results, you’ll see our upcoming events with the event’s date included in the title.

Select an event, click Enroll and then Submit when prompted. Once you’re enrolled, click Start Content and then Launch Content when prompted to open the registration page in the O’Reilly learning platform.

Once you’re on the registration page, click Sign up! at the top right-hand side of your screen to register for the event. You can then add the event to your calendar to be sure your time is reserved.
Skill plans
With O’Reilly skill plans, you can assess your ability and create a personalized plan focused only on what you need to know. As you progress, you’ll earn verifiable badges that prove your proficiency. Here’s how to find them:

Search for the words skill plan, then select O’Reilly in the Content Provider filter and Assessment in the External Content Type filter.

Select a skill plan, click Enroll and then Submit when prompted. Once you’re enrolled, click Start Content and then Launch Content when prompted to open the skill plan in the O’Reilly learning platform.

Click Take assessment to assess your skills and create a personalized plan.
Videos
We have over 3,000 videos on Workday Learning, and they’re easy to find.
