TIM O'REILLY JOINS ANDROMEDIA BOARD

October 7, 1998

SEBASTOPOL, CA--Tim O'Reilly, founder, President, and CEO of O'Reilly & Associates, has joined the board of Andromedia, the leading supplier of marketing solutions for e-commerce. Today at Internet World, Andromedia announced a merger with web personalization company LikeMinds, which was formed in 1997 with the backing of O'Reilly & Asssociates and private investors. The company will combine Andromedia's real-time web site activity analysis software with LikeMinds' personalization technology to provide web marketing software that analyzes customer behavior and preferences, delivers custom content based on that analysis, and provides web marketers with real-time reports.

"The combination of LikeMinds and Andromedia technologies creates unique opportunities for both personalizing the user experience and optimizing the web developer's efforts," O'Reilly stated. "It also creates an enormous opportunity to optimize offline marketing and business planning using information derived from online interactions."

O'Reilly also serves on the boards of the Internet Society, Electronic Frontier Foundation, ActiveState, Songline Studios, and Travelers Tales.
