It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

The past decade has seen an explosion of data, affecting the way it is collected, processed, and analyzed at various organizations to better serve their customers. Many have embraced this change to become data-first companies. Both hardware and software systems have evolved to support big data systems, making it easy for data engineers to derive valuable insights that were never possible before. While data-driven applications have improved the user experience, user information can be exposed to applications and users beyond their control. Data engineers should now treat this information with greater responsibility.
Put Yourself in the User’s Shoes
Multiple systems collect various kinds of personal information about users. Always handle users’ information as you would your own. Data engineers should sometimes act as data guardians while designing data applications. We should always follow company or industry standards around security and privacy. An organization should have dedicated people or teams who help enforce security policies while making sure they are up-to-date against newer threats.
Ensure Ethical Use of User Information
