Preface

The Web Has Democratized DESIGN—both the process of design and the attendant responsibilities. Knowingly or not, we have been engaging in design throughout our lives, but without such broad implications. When we choose whether to wear brown shoes or black, the effect of our choice is limited to the people we encounter throughout the day. When we design a Web site, we design for everyone.
