Abstract
A degenerative disorder that results in deterioration of the structure or functions of the “nervous system”, either by killing or rupturing the nerve cells, is known as a neurodegenerative disease. The most frequently occurring nerve disorder is “Alzheimer’s Disease” (AD) and “Parkinson’s Disease” (PD). The “National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences” has declared that, in the year 2016, around five million American citizens were living with AD. It focuses on application of deep learning models in the detecting the frequent occurrence of neurodegenerative diseases, the AD and PD. It also includes research works involving novel architecture for ensuring security in the deep brain stimulation (a treatment protocol for PD). This survey briefly reviews some significant literature on the application of advanced deep learning algorithms in the diagnosis of neurodegenerative diseases and in tackling the security threats in their treatment protocol. This chapter presented few techniques followed by various researchers; accuracy, sensitivity, and recall achieved by the methodologies have been presented for PD. ...
