So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

The HACK Framework
This chapter turns the definition of an AI-powered accountant into a working operating model. If Chapter 1 explained why the profession needs to change, the HACK Framework explains how to approach that change in the right order: by fixing the environment AI operates in and building the practitioner skills needed to use it safely.
HACK stands for Hygiene, Automation, Capability, and Knowledge. The framework is deliberately sequential because AI value does not come from buying tools first and cleaning up later. It comes from building clean data, streamlining the right workflows, developing the technical depth to operate and assess tools, and then applying professional judgment to turn outputs into decisions.
