John Canemaker - An Academy Award-winning independent animator, animation historian, teacher, and author, John Canemaker has screened his work to great acclaim at film festivals, museums, and universities around the world. Canemaker is a full professor and director of the Animation Program at New York University Tisch School of the Arts. In 2009 he received the NYU Distinguished Teaching Award for “exceptional teaching, inside and outside the classroom.” Canemaker won a 2005 Oscar and an Emmy Award for his 28-minute animated short The Moon and the Son: An Imagined Conversation.
