I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Structured versus unstructured APIs
We have already discussed the pros and cons of both RDDs and structured APIs. Chapter 3, Spark RDD, discussed various reasons why you might choose to write your applications using RDD. Writing your applications in high-level APIs are always better as they bring lots of advantages, but, if you want more physical control of your job, then you can always switch to RDDs. A good practice is to start with the DataFrames/Dataset APIs for the heavy computation, and then use RDD to get better control of your application.
