Abstract
The pursuit of artificial general intelligence (AGI) relies not only on empirical progress in machine learning and cognitive modeling but also on a systematic theoretical basis that can inform system design, scalability, and alignment. Theoretical intelligence (TI) is the formal, abstract, and mathematically based framework for comprehending cognition, learning, reasoning, and flexibility in arbitrary domains. This paper discusses the central role of TI in determining the architecture, capabilities, and safety mechanisms of strong AGI systems.
