AWS Storage Services

This chapter covers the following subjects:

• Fundamental Storage Services: Three fundamental storage types in IT today are object-based storage, block-based storage, and file-based storage. Sure enough, AWS has fundamental services to provide these types of technologies: the object-based S3 service, the block-based EBS service, and the file-based EFS service. We will examine all three of these services in this section of the chapter.

• Other Storage Services: S3, EBS, and EFS are not the only AWS storage services you need to know about. In this part of the chapter, we will examine other important storage services: FSx, AWS Storage Gateway, and AWS Backup.
