Chapter 14. AWS Developer Tools and Other Essential Services
This chapter looks at the types of AWS tools that can help organizations to build, integrate, and manage applications efficiently. You will find some of these tools mentioned in the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner exam.
In this chapter, you’ll learn about application integration tools like Amazon EventBridge, which routes events between services; SNS, a messaging service for notifications; and SQS, a managed message queue for decoupling systems. It also covers business applications such as Amazon Connect, a cloud contact center, and Simple Email Service (SES), an email sending service.
Key developer and DevOps tools are also introduced. They include CodeBuild for building code, CodePipeline for automating deployments, and AWS X-Ray for application tracing. What’s more, the chapter covers services for delivering client-facing applications and desktops, such as AppStream 2.0 and WorkSpaces, as well as AWS IoT Core, which connects and manages Internet of Things devices securely at scale.
Application Integration Tools
Application integration services include connectors that help keep different parts of an IT system working smoothly. They allow for managing messages, alerts, and events automatically. That way, every piece can do its job on its own and only reach out to others when necessary. By doing this, the system stays reliable even if one part fails, making it easy to expand or maintain down the line.
