I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

Um klar und kraftvoll schreiben zu lernen, sollte die Hand auf dem Papier immer in Bewegung sein, rät Natalie Goldberg in ihrem Buch Schreiben in Cafés. Auch für Fotografen ist es wichtig, beim Sehen und Skizzieren von Ideen aktiv zu bleiben. Als ich beruflich fotografierte, benutzte ich meistens eine große 5 × 7-Zoll-Fachkamera auf einem Stativ und arbeitete mit Planfilm. Im besten Fall konnte ich 10 Filmhalter mitnehmen, konnte also 20 Aufnahmen pro Arbeitstag machen. Ich musste meine Ideen in meinem Kopf skizzieren, mit meinen Augen und meinem Gehirn, indem ich eine Hand um mein Auge legte, um ein Bild zu visualisieren. Dabei sehnte ich mich oft nach einer leichteren Kamera, mit der ich experimentieren und skizzieren ...
