Communication – a way to exchange data between services

If microservices are all about services then communication between services should be robust. Communication is a way to exchange data between services. Services communicate using Rest API (that is, HTTP calls request/response) and these are synchronous by nature.

When services communicate with each other they are actually exchanging data, also called messaging between services. It is very important to consider the choice of messaging mechanism carefully when dealing with a microservice architecture.
