I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

Next Wave of Vehicle Diagnostics
In this chapter, we will get an understanding of the next generation of diagnostics, better suited to advancements in modern vehicles, including the Internet of Things (IoT) field. Unified Diagnostic Services (UDS) is not well-suited to modern vehicle architecture, as it is static in nature and inflexible for software-defined vehicles, which tend to change more often. There is a need for a dynamic diagnostic protocol to meet the demands of modern technologies. This chapter covers Service-Oriented Vehicle Diagnostics (SOVD), the next wave of diagnostic protocols for modern vehicles. It also provides a reference SOVD demo, as well as a comparison between UDS and SOVD.
