Box 15.1 Duty Entitlement Passbook Scheme (DEPB)
In order to increase the export–GDP (gross domestic product)
ratio, a number of initiatives have been taken in the recent
years. These include a reduction in exploring credit rates, both
pre and post-shipment, higher-duty drawback rates on a range
of export items, abolition of value limits on a large
number of export products covered under the Duty Entitle-
ment Passbook Scheme (DEPB), and special fi nancial
assistance packages for selected export products having high-
value addition and high-level of international competitiveness.
II. Agricultural items:
