9.1 GENERAL IDEA AND DIFFERENT TYPES OF SEQUENCES

It is a list of numbers. If you are writing the numbers in a list format, it implies that you have created a sequence. Even the list of numbers 1,2,3,…. is referred to as a sequence. A sequence is identified with the notation. A number in the sequence is notated as a_j [j = 1,2,3,..]. Usually, sequence will be written based on a pattern. Normally, the word term of a sequence is referring to the number in the sequence. Each and every term can be identified with its position in the sequence. A sequence can be written based on a recursive formula.
