Chapter 2. Controlling Exposure and Focus
You're likely anxious to begin using the advanced features of the EOS T2i/550D. Fortunately, with the T2i/550D, you can begin immediately without needing to know everything there is to know about photography and without needing a bag full of lenses and accessories. And if you are upgrading from a point-and-shoot camera, then you'll enjoy the creative freedom that the Rebel T2i/550D offers.
The first step in making pictures is choosing a shooting mode. With the T2i/550D, you can switch among automated, semiautomatic, and manual shooting modes and be assured of getting great shots in almost any situation. In this chapter, you learn about image exposure and how to modify it when you face challenging scenes and subjects, as well as how to get tack-sharp focus. You also explore choosing a drive mode based on the subjects you're shooting.
