It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

ファイルの名前を変更する
既存のファイルに新しい名前を与えるには、
rename
関数を使います。
rename 'old', 'new';
これは、
Unix
の
mv
コマンドを使って、
old
という名前のファイルに対して、同じディレクトリ
の中で
new
という新しい名前を与えるのと似ています。
rename
を使って、ファイルを移動するこ
ともできます。
rename 'over_there/some/place/some_file', 'some_file';
中には、「

太い矢印」で紹介した太い矢印

を使って、名前の変更前と変更後がわかり
やすいようにするという流儀もあります。
rename 'over_there/some/place/some_file' => 'some_file';
これは別のディレクトリにある
some_file
という名前のファイルを、カレントディレクトリに
移動します。ただし、このプログラムを実行するユーザは、必要なパーミッションを持っていな
ければなりません。また、ファイルを別のディスクパーティションに移動することはできません。
rename
は、ファイルエントリの名前を変えるだけで、データを移動するわけではありません。
オペレーティングシステムに対して何かを要求する関数の多くと同様に、
rename
は失敗すると
偽を返し、
$!
にオペレーティングシステムエラーをセットします。ですから、
