Building the Dashboard

Unlike traditional equipment that requires physical access or dedicated management access to be configured, all Cisco Meraki devices get their configurations directly over the Internet from the Meraki cloud. Once a device has been added to a Dashboard network within an organization, the only true prerequisite for getting the device up and running is an active Internet connection that allows the device to communicate with the Meraki cloud. However, before a device can fetch a configuration, all the surrounding Dashboard objects must first exist.
