Chapter 2. Getting Started with Claude Code
Time to install Claude Code1 and try it on a small project.
You do not need an existing app for the main example. We will start from an empty folder and let Claude Code create the first version of a new application. Before that, I want you to see what a session looks like when it opens inside any project directory, because that is the basic shape you will use for the rest of the book.
A few words get used loosely around tools like this, so this book tries to use them deliberately, as shown in the following box.
