The art of building software is a craft that takes many years to perfect. In the early years of our careers, we often equate lines of code with the quality or the cool factor of an application: the more lines of code we write, the better the developers we are.

Once we get over that misconception, we tend to go the other way. We believe that the fewer lines of code we write, the better our code is, and the better the developers we are.
