Abstract

This research introduces a novel framework for decentralized identity verification, emphasizing cognitive security through the integration of blockchain technology and advanced cryptographic techniques. Utilizing the BioZero protocol, which leverages Pedersen commitments and homomorphic encryption, the system ensures privacy-preserving biometric authentication on open blockchains. The framework uses zero-knowledge proofs to validate user identities without disclosing sensitive information, enhancing both security and user privacy. The system’s efficacy was evaluated using the BlockChain-Based Decentralized Identity Architecture – Internet of Things (BDIDA-IoT) dataset, which comprises diverse biometric and identity-related features. Experimental results demonstrate a verification accuracy of 98.7%, with an average latency of 2.5 seconds per authentication event and a throughput ...
