FREQUENCY RESPONSE ANALYSIS
8.1 Introduction
After obtaining the mathematical model of the system, its performance is analysed based on the time response or frequency response. Time response of the system is defined as the response of the system when standard test signals such as impulse, step and so on are applied to it. Frequency response of the system is defined as the response of the system when standard sinusoidal signals are applied to it with constant amplitude over a range of frequencies. The frequency response indicates the steady-state response of a system to a sinusoidal input.
