This chapter examines the data subject’s rights of transparency, their rights over processing, and their remedies and rights of redress for infringements of the GDPR.
INFORMING AND EMPOWERING THE PROTECTED PARTY
As the protected party under data protection law, the data subject enjoys a series of legal rights that are designed to inform and empower them and, where possible to put them in control over data processing. These rights fall into three categories:
- transparency and information rights;
- rights over data processing;
- remedies and rights of redress.
