I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

The official manual for the a7 IV is available only as an online HTML “Web Manual,” which you can also download as a PDF file. Sony calls this document a “Help Guide,” which many take to mean that the average user needs a lot of help to use it. It’s 496 pages long and includes page upon page of tiny black-and-white drawings impaled with dozens of callouts. Six pages at the tail end of the text are devoted just to labeling the 250-plus individual icons that can appear in the viewfinder and LCD monitor screen. Seeking information about a specific feature is a lot like being presented with a world globe when what you really want is to locate the capital of Brazil.
